Aja Eyre Concedes Makawao-Haiku-Pa'ia Councilmember Race to Long-Time Incumbent, Mike Molina
Despite achieving a vote count more than double what she received in the 2020 Primary Election, Aja Eyre concedes the race to Mike Molina, who is in good standing to run for Maui County Mayor in 2022. Aja sends a message of congratulations to Mr. Molina and appreciates his years of service to Maui County. When asked about the results, Aja responded, "We were very excited to see these numbers. While a loss is always hard, we achieved the nearly 20,000 votes that are almost unheard of in a first-time, relatively unknown candidate. I think that proves that my message and plans resonate with Maui voters, and I look forward to another try in 2022!"
Aja Eyre looks forward to continue her work to help achieve a better county for small businesses, a more robust health care system, and more care and calculated concern for our environment and natural resources. Until the next election cycle, Aja will continue as a consultant as well as working with social and environmental groups on island to garner more cooperation towards needed change and results in county operations.

Aja Eyre enters race for County Council
Filing with the County Clerk just days before the June 2, 2020 deadline, Aja Eyre has been nominated to the position of Maui County Council Member representing Haʻikū, Pāʻia, and Makawao. She joins a race already entered by incumbant Mike Molina and newcomer Laurent Zahnd.
